GENERAL INFORMATION:
Most of your questions can be answered by referring to the ACBL Conditions Contest for the 2008-2009 North American Pairs event. Pairs finishing 1st and 2nd in each flight of the District Final competition who elect to participate in the National Finals in Houston, TX, March 12-22, 2009 will receive monetary prizes. A fixed amount prize will be awarded in all flights as follows:

In districts with three qualifiers, the first place qualifiers will receive $700 per person and the second place qualifiers will receive $300 per person. The third place qualifiers will be invited to participate in the national level finals, but will not receive any prize. No individual may collect two concurrent prizes.
The monetary award will be available on site. Qualifiers must play in the national level event until eliminated to receive the award. There will be no entry fee for the national level of the event. Membership dues and Life Master service fees must be current and continuous from the start of the Unit Qualifying to the completion of the National Finals in Houston. If a qualified pair chooses not to play in the National Final, qualification for that position will extend to the next pair.
